Re: GBBS!
Gabe:
You have a lot to talk about, how long did you run a pirated version
of GBBS before you switched to Metal and never paid a cent for it
and got mods from many other SysOp/programmers? It is persons like
you that have caused a lot of very good programmers to go elsewhere
and try and make some money. You may be running Metel and yes it
seems to be a good program, but I'll bet you still have a ton of
pirated software. Larry Hawkins did a good job and because of it
went broke, by the way Larry was only one of the many programmers
that worked on SuperTac. Steve Prado, Ken Rogers and others also
did a lot of work on it. Lance has held on and supported the
II dispite the problems. He does not have the time nor the money
to go much farther. It would be better to get others to help out
and not slam other systems. Yes Metal appears to be a good system,
but I run GBBS and maybe in the future will switch to LLUCE when
it does come out since it is finished with very little to do,
I have talked with some of the beta testers who had been working
on it before is slowed down to nothing.
I have talked to Lance about it a few times and am getting advise from
others about buying the whole program; I'm not a programmer but have
beta tested other Apple programs and I'm also talking to a couple of
real good programmers to help me finish the program and it all works
out I will buy it and I can assure you it will go out and be supported.
I will also take action against any pirate system and SysOps who is
running GBBS, LLUCE or anything that has been made from its code, where
Lance has been unwilling or unable to it.
Enough about this, the Apple II people have to stick together and help
out since Apple does not seem to care much about us and the Mac users
are about to find the same thing.
