I agree that the vertical resolution is one if the GS' main disadvantages and
I really would like a VGA or even SVGA resolution on my GS. 

There is/was (?) already a similar card called TurboReZ. I don't know what its 
current status is, but one point that I can remember from discussions
in this group and other sources is that the main problem about such a card 
isn't the hardware design but the software support. 

You have to patch/rewrite QuickDraw II to allow enhenced resolution. 
This is not a trivial task because a 600x200 resolution is hardcoded into
QuickDraw II. At least that's what the GS experts have told so far. 
(Can somebody please tell me that I'm wrong ;-)

So before you start with the hardware, think about how the GS (i.e. the Toolbox)
could use such a card.
