You're wrong.
Doesn't QD have a max resolution of 32768x32768?  I don't have my
books in front of me.

Despite this, the problem with a new video card is the software
support.  Many _PROGRAMS_ are hard coded to expect certain resolutions
(including the Finder).

I'm sure someone will post more info on this.
I'd like to see the card anyway - don't kill it because there might be
some software problems!  Those kinds of problems can be fixed....
