In recent threads here, someone inquires as to the movement of files from
the 5.25" to Mac.
One reply includes:
>If you are running a Centris with a ][e board, please let us know--none of my
>local Macintosh dealers know whether or not this is possible. If it is, I will
>certainly consider the Centris when I buy my computer! But if THAT is what

We have a ][e card on an LC - we can run the darn thing, but in the case
of moving PRODOS files that are on a 5.25" drive to simple text files on
a Mac, the recurring issue -- unsolved as of this date -- is that we
cannot actually SEE the $$%% files we move! whether we Print to a Text
file, or save to a different file name (using the path name that is the
Partition on the Mac HD), The files are invisible! What am I missing
here? The same kind of issue occurs with the Bootup process. To Boot up,
I either have to drag (individually) the PRODOS and the BASIC.SYSTEM
files to the open partition "folder" (I am always asked if I want to
overwrite them!) or boot from a 5.25" floppy _or_ boot with a Mac 6.0.8
disc that has the ][e startup on it! Finally, NOTHING I have done _ever_
allows access to the Mac internal 3.5" floppy! ARRRGH! I spend TOO MUCH
time doing simple things! It is almost quicker to simply Print out the
AppleWorks file, scan it using OmniPage, save to Mac or DOS format!
Any thoughts on this issue, PLEASE e-mail me direct!
Thanks,
David Houston
