Well, first things first.  You need to have ShrinkIt to unpack the files
that are on FTP sites.  You'll need a recent system software to be able
to run ShrinkIt GS.  

Describe what you have on your //gs right now (ie, which system software?)
and I'll tell you what you need.

If you just need vt-100 and X, Ymodem, get the freeware Telcom by Procyon.
There are also numerous terminal emulations only softwares.  There are
also few good commericial packages.
