Old 5.25 inch floppy drives on a ROM 3 GS?

I was wondering if it was possible to connect one of the old Apple ][ 5 1/4"
floppy drives with the 20 pin rectangular connector (Disk ][?) to the daisy-
chain connector on a SuperDrive connected to the built-in floppy controller on
a GS (rev 03 ROM).

Is the drive compatible with the proper cable or would I need a floppy disk
controller card to run it?

I was also curious about the CTI drive controller for using IBM PC-compatible
drives as if they were normal Apple drives.  I would like to hear any comments
about those as well.

For that matter, I am interested in any third-party drives that are compatible
with the Apple 5 1/4" drives for the GS.
