Depends on where your interests lie. I need something that has
excellent VT-100 emulation. Because of the inherent text display
limitations, Proterm can't distinguish VT-100 bold, underline, inverse
or double-sized characters while ANSITerm can (because it uses the SHR
screen). Same goes for colour ANSI graphics. Proterm has to emulate
ANSI graphics with Mousetext (does a pretty good job in most cases) but
it can't handle colour at all. An accelerator is highly recommended for
ANSITerm because of its graphic nature.
All in all, I prefer ANSITerm 2.1 to Proterm 3.0 (haven't bothered
upgrading to 3.1 since someone is buying my copy of Proterm). Bigger
editor, nice scripting language, best VT-100 emulation and all-around
nice program. It's not quite as expensive as Proterm either. In any
case, both are light years ahead of Mousetalk, so you can't lose either
way.
