The DeskJET.  The DeskWriter is the mac version, stay away from that!
The deskjet has both serial and parallel ports; you can use a
Mac to ImageWriter I printer cable to connect it to your GS.

Yes.  You should be able to buy it for $250 if you look hard enough.
Major computer stores should be able to match this price.

Pretty darn good; especially if you are use to the IW II's output.
With the right paper, you could hardly notice the extra fuzziness
usually associated with inkjet printers.

Yes: the Deskjet can be used by both GS/OS and prodos 8 programs; 
while the DeskWriter can only be accessed from GS/OS.  This is due 
to the lack of built-in fonts in the deskwriter, since the Mac
uses quickdraw to generate output.
