CD-ROM replies to Questions

Greetings,

        Recently, I posted several questions in this area requesting
information about CD-ROM and the Apple //e and IIGS, hoping to provide our
Apple II User Group members with some relevant information. Some of you
replied via E-mail, and as requested by Brian Tao, I've summarized your
replies and am posting them here. Although I haven't given proper credit to
the authors, I have separated their resposes with the "*" character.

! Should work. Most CDs use the High-Serria format, which the GS can read,

! I don't think you can use a CD-ROM on a IIe. (Someone correct me if I'm
! wrong). You can however, use a CD-ROM on a IIGS with a Apple SCSI card &
! System 6.0.1. As far as IIGS CD's go, there is the System 6 Gold (from
! what I've heard) & Michigan's Apple II FTP site is currently deciding
! wether or not to publish a Apple II CD. I imagine you could also use Mac
! HFS CD's on a IIGS, ex: with AudioZap, you could import MAC sound (even
! tho it's in a resource).
