Upgrading Appleworks 1.0

I've just unpacked my GS from a long hibernation for my wife to use for her
business.  I want to start with Appleworks until I can get some hardware
upgrades so I can run GS Works.  The version of Appleworks I have is 1.0 and
I've noticed that the net is talking about version 4.0.  Can I still get
version 3.0 or should I not bother and go straight for v4.0?  And where can I
get it?  The Egghead stores in my area no longer carry Apple II software.
