Jason, The Passport midi cards for the Apple II+ and //e that you are
referring to were produced with and without the sync jacks. However, the sync
jacks supported FSK sync, not SMPTE. At that time of the Apple II MaterTracks
programs development, I think only JL.Cooper and Roland produced an
"affordable" SMPTE <--> midi box.
BTW, those Passport cards seem to work well in the GS, too, with midi
applications running under GS/OS. The big drawback is with the connecting
midi cables: the connectors are too big to fit through the GS' back panel
cutouts so they have to lay over the back panel.
