Yes! Apple Emulators!

Hi!

mcclay@xavier.xu.edu asks:
>I am really interested in available APPLE IIE/II+/IIGS or other emulators for
>the IBM.

gkaplan@mitre.org replys:
>Yes, me too..If such an animal exists let me know.....

and ST004348@BROWNVM.brown.edu posts:
>Hi! There is a new version of the emulator available and a ton of programs to

1. Emulators for IBM-PC
	apl2em - The Randy Spurlock II+ emulator (version 1)
apl2em-2 The Randy Spurlock ][+ Emulator (Version 2)
	applemu - The 48K ][+ Emulator

There is a newsgroup called "alt.emulators.ibmpc.apple2", which
	discusses these emulators (and others).

2. Emulators for Unix
	ap2e - Randy Frank's //e emulator, 80 col curses, text only
	ap2egl - Randy Frank's //e emulator with GL graphics
a2 - the Rich Skreath Unix emulator
	apple2 - Peter Koch's Apple ][+ emulator

3. Other emulators
zaniWok - Mat Hostetter's Apple //e emulator for NeXT
AppleOnAmiga - Claudio Nieder's Apple emulator for Amiga
AtariApple - Darek Mihocka's emulator for Atari ST

These are available on several anonymous ftp servers. I would recommend
wilbur.stanford.edu:/pub/apple2 and ftp.uni-kl.de:/pub/apple2.
There you can find much more usefull stuff for Apple ][ (and emulators,
of course): pd, freeware, shareware, tools for disk transfer, disk images
and FAQ's ;-)
Seriously: If people would read the FAQ of comp.sys.apple carefully, they
would know about alt.emulators.ibmpc.apple2. It is mentioned there!!!
And if they would read the FAQ of alt.emulators.ibmpc.apple2, this article
wouldn't be necessary. Those poor people, who cannot read alt. newsgroups
should ftp to rtfm.mit.edu and get the FAQ from there.

Hope that helps!
