-Tell us more. I have looked hard for a way to set up 3-across records in
-AWGS, but cannot find any way to do it.
-
-To make it simple, suppose I've got three fields: NAME, ADDRESS,
-CITYSTZIP. I have defined them as text fields and arranged them one atop
-the other in Definition mode. How do I get them in the second and third
-columns? Is there a way to copy them there? Or is there some menu item
-that lets me choose 3-column layout?
-
-Are you sure you're talking about AW _GS_, not the 8-bit AppleWorks?

ok, here's what i'm doing, and it is with AWGS v1.1. looking at my file
again i'm not really printing out 3 records across the page, but one record
across that contains 3 sub-records (my notation). i started with one
record that had Name,Address,City-State-Zip,Misc1,Misc2, for a total of five
fields stacked vertically, on the left part of the definition template. then
i copied/pasted all five records into the middle of the template, then again
into the right side of the template, for a total of 15 fields in this "record".
i then sized the record vertically so 10 of these would fit onto one
page (would have been easier if Indpendence had a 1" label page size for the
dj500). now i could go into the List window and enter in my address, then
copy it into all the other fields. i suppose you could make each sub-record
contain different fields than the others, but i've never tried it, or
mail-merging for that matter.
