Yes, and he served as Apple's first president. Markkula is credited
with much of the early success of Apple. His experienced management
was able to successfully navigate the little start-up through some 
tough times and keep it afloat.

As an aside that has nothing to do with this, has anyone ever noticed
how often companies are referred to like boats? hm...
