Sure, maybe not everybody knows about electronic stuff but since the
original post presented a complete guide to installing an electronic
device, and since standard writing practices involve the assumption of
an informed audience, I'm shocked that a term like continuity would have
to be explained.  Besides, the first definition of "continuity" that my
dictionary gives is "uninterrupted connection" which by itself makes a lot
of sense in the context in which it was used.

Asking for help in understanding something is one thing but subsequently
criticizing the author is another.
