SSC chip problem..

i have a SupraFaxModem 14.4 LC. I am using an Apple Super Serial CArd with this
modem. I heard that the 6550 ACIA chip on this card from Apple has some bugs.
I also heard that Ron Higgins is an expert with this problem. I would like
to have a chip replacement and new upgrades involving adding higher speeds
to my SSC from Ron Higgins.
 
Ron Higgins, if you are reading this message, could you please help me out?
