Sys 6.0.1/Appletalk question

I just installed system 6.0.1 on my hard drive this week.
Now everytime I turn the machine on I get the thermometer for
about 20 seconds then the screen flips to text mode and says

"The selected AppleTalk connection could not be found.  Be sure
 it is installed and the slot settings in the Control Panel are
 correct."  Press return

I press return and it continues to boot as normal and everything
is fine.  I was just wondering if anybody knows why?  I have
my Sider 40 hard drive in connected to slot 7 and set to 
"Your Card" in the control panel.  I went through the installation
scripts and removed all AppleTalk related files.

Any help appreciated.
