hardpressed question

Can anyone help me with this problem?
I'm attempting to put HardPressed Platinum Paint 2.0 on 3.5" disk with
system 6.  I've taken everything off the disk that is not absolutely
necessary.  I'm using the compression scheme LZSS and I've taken the
other compresssion schemes out of the HardPressed folder.
I've got about 4K left over on the disk.
When I boot, everything seems to work ok, but I can't open a new
paint document.  I get the error message "unknown error $1301".
Any thoughts on what's going on?  Thanks!
