Hmm. What I did was press on yet another DB-25 connector on the ribbon
cable _inside_ the case and then use this admittedly clumsy but working
apparation: Take a Centronics-type 50 female, some ribbon cable, and
some molex connectors. Press the Centronics-type and the molex connectors
on the ribbon cable. Attach that thing to your HD/TApe Drive/MO/CD-ROM/
whatever-else-you-have-in-there. Then use a normal "external cable" to
connect _that_ to the DB-25 connector you pressed on.
The alternative would be to take yet another DB-25 (male in that case),
some molex and ribbon cable. Press molex on, sort out which threads
of the ribbon cable go where (remember to somehow connect all GND,
although the Db-25 has only a few or even just one), don't let them
slip out, and quickly press the DB-25 shut. Have fun :) It's the
better solution, but I think I'll stay with my kludge. "Never change
a running system" and "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".
