0.9b4, which is not scheduled to be released due to the returning flood of
negativity, fixes the quadrascope problem. Allow me to decompose this
argument into terms of 1 syllable or less whenever possible.
MODZap 0.9 includes a revolutionary self-syncronized swapper, which means it
plays all samples at perfect fidelity. However, due to the structure of the
DOC, and limitations of the source hardware (Amiga), looping samples tend to
be a bit rough around the loopback point. This manifests itself as either a
click, a vibrato effect, or in extreme cases where the looping segment is <128
bytes, a buzzing effect (Klisje Paa Klisje for example). This is not a fault
of the swapper itself, but more oriented in the preprocessor section, and the
source hardware. If you can find a non-looping (the icon is a straight arrow
pointing to the right, not a circular arrow) instrument which plays badly at
any speed from 0.5 Hz to 1.21 gHz, I'd certainly like to hear about it. Note
also that many looping samples aren't looped so hot to begin with (check out
any AudioMonster tune on a real Amiga).
