Lemme add to this, based on my recent experience.  If you get a new cable,
and it helps for a little, but then the RF flakes out again, it means you have
a dirty/corroded SCSI connector on the back of your drive.  A Q-Tip (tm)
moistened with a bit of rubbing alcohol cleaned my HD up fine, and it's worked
flawlessly since.

I'm glad to hear this; I was treated very poorly by CVTech tech support, in
the form of Drew.
