Oh, come now, David.  That would violate the Apple II users creed!  Never
read the docs until all other efforts to figure something out have failed!
Seriously, though, thanks for the answers.  I was sort of expecting the
keyboard nav to work similar to ProSel where each press of a given letter
steps to the next program/icon that starts with that letter.  I can see where
this implementation is a little more powerful but I'm not sure I'll use it that 
much.
