IIC Help

a couple of weeks ago my parents decided it was time to get rid of the old 
IIC (oh so many memories. . .!!), and I could have it or any money I get from 
selling it (cool...maybe I can buy a bit or two for my 486).  So I pulling the 
computer out of the box I had so lovingly packed it in a couple years ago I try 
it out and:

         *****RELOCATION/CONFIGURATION ERROR******

is all that comes on the screen?  Oh except, when I booted an Infrocom game it
managed to lode the game in memory . . . only to crash after I type a couple
lines! (grrr!) . . . Idea's anyone? it worked fine when I boxed it up!
it's a shame because we have lot's of 'bits' to go with it. . .
