They must have a TDD machine that supports both standard 300 baud as well as
well as BAUDOT (deaf TTY) because they are not the same or even remotely
compatible.
 
BAUDOT has only 5 data bits plus a start and stop bit, a speed of about 45.5
baud, half-duplex and no carrier.
 
Some companies that make TDDs that also sell special modems that support TDD.
You might check Krown or Ultra-Tec.  The old Novation Apple-Cat modem supports
TDD just fine (as well as 300 baud in the Cat's single-card configuration) with
either Novation's Deaf Ware or with ASCII Express Professional.
