Finder 6.0.1 updates the folders, but not the volume. Say if you're running
The Manager, Switch-It!, or GNO/ME ( with a desktop app suspended ). Then
you change the volume name ( like when you unpack a .sdk ). Finder won't
notice it.

I found a work around, which is to select erase from the disk menu, then
select cancel. I dunno if it works in 6.0, but it works fine in Finder
6.0.1.
