  Hey, now this is an original solution :-)  As it turns out, I've been
informed there are a couple of shape editors around, but if they don't
prove to be flexible enough this will be an interesting solution.  I might
yet find a use for Duluxe Paint II :-)

  (Once I've located and played around with the available shape editors,
I'll post an article about them if anyone else is interested in knowing
what they're like).
