HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!
I downloaded a group of files from "grind.isca.uiowa.edu" called MOSTCOOL. I
ran one of the programs, not knowing what it was, and later figured out it was
some sort of password protection utility. It acts as though it wipes out half
of your hard drive and generally wreaks havoc with everything. Anyway, I was
able to recover all of my files using ProSel, but it will not let me into that
partition of my hard drive. I've tried using More Info by Bill Tudor to change
the characteristics (read allowed, write allowed, etc.). That is where the
problem is. BUT, after I change them, and try to save the new characteristics,
I get error $40 (invalid pathname syntax). I guess because it is the root
directory. It does the same thing on my other partition. If anyone can direct
me to a program that will allow me to change these parameters properly, I would
be eternally grateful. I can still access the hard drive (through ProSel), but
not through the Finder. PLEASE HELP!!!
Thank you VERY much!!!
