//c 5.25 internal floppy errors: fix?
Hi,
My //c has recently been giving me a lot of trouble with floppies---a
lot of somewhat unpredictable cases of read errors and re-tries. I
wonder what this is likely to be caused by. All my disks are pretty
old, so I suppose it could be media degradation, but I tend to suspect
that it's the drive. Is this a common problem with an easy fix?
Where could I look for tips on fixing it (I'd rather not take it in to
be repaired)?
It's a mid-level //c (unidisk-capable, no mem-expansion connector, the
drive is the internal 5.25 one---which actually came with the //c
before I got the motherboard swap).
Thanks for any advice,
Mark
