There is a GUI for the IIgs that works fine on 8 bit Apples.  I've seen 2
versions, Apple II Desktop and UltraLaunch.  Gives you a "finder" or a
IIe, IIc, etc.  Once you launch an application though, you are (of course)
at the mercy of the interface chosen for that program.  Oops, just noticed
a typo and the editor I am using (PICO 1.7) is a pain in the butt!  In
sentence 3 above, it should say "finder ON a IIe......"

Best GUI programs for the 8 bit II's include MultiScribe/BeagleWrite and
Publish It 4.
