ProSel 8 is a "must have" for any 8 bit apples with more than 128K. I
really like the Cat Doctor utilities that come with it.

Also, there is a PD (I think) launcher/utility with a GUI. It was made
for the IIgs, but works mostly fine on 8 bit Apples. The name is _Apple
II Desktop_ or _UltraLaunch_. I have both and can't tell any difference
between them. Both give you a desktop that looks like an early Mac. The
only problem that I have had is with 3.5 drives. Maybe someone can help me
figure this out. On both IIc and IIc+ the 3.5 drives "churn". On the
IIc+ they spin constantly unless some action is happening on the desktop.
On the IIc with UniDisk, the drive is "polled" about once every second. I
work around it by removing the 3.5 drives from the ProDOS cue (with
Scavenge, also from ProSel 8) when I don't need them. Any way to fix this?
