  What do you mean by 'baseline'?  All IIGS fonts are drawn according
to a baseline (I forget the actual term they use).   Presumably
you're wondering if a PICT can be pasted in according to the baseline
used in surrounding text.  TextEdit doesn't support that at all, as
far as I know.
