The campus computing situation here is very odd. SLIP is political so the
anaswer to that part of your question is maybe!
 
As for public-access newsfeeds, etc...how on earth do you expect me to UUCP
my NeXT to other places, when I have trouble dealing with my own situation?
I'd be more than happy if someone were to freely offer mail and newsgroups,
and dial-in capabilities.
 
All this may be possible. I really don't know. On campus I have access to
our Departmental system, period! We appear to function on a profit or at
least a break even basis. I doubt if anyone will give me an account that has
micro newsgroup access. It's tyranny by the Unix systems' people and it's 
very political. It's also one reason I eagerly await the day when Unix will
finally be done in.
 
Sorry about all the newsgroups. I hadn't noticed I was replying to every
newsgroup on earth!
