Thanks for the info. I am a little naive about DOS, so can you tell me what
are the features of MS-DOS 5 that makes it better than DOS 3.3? I also have
norton utility (comes with my PCT).

: I have used MS-KERMIT, but it drops characters.  Other programs are available
: on-line, like COM-AND.  It supports zmodem, but the screen writes are slow
: because it is trying to be fancy.  For some reason, even Kermit at 2400bps
: drops characters under the PCT.

How about just using it to read news? Is it fast enough?
