No, of course not. Printing from an 8 bit program, you should get 4 pages
per minute using either parallel or serial.
When I first got my HP LaserJet, I did a totally unscientific test with a
friend who had a HP IIP connected to the IIGS serial port. To print a
single page from the AWGS word processing module took a shade over 4
minutes. I printed out a single page from AWGS word processing module in 1
minute, 15 seconds.
Frank also asks:
Will 512K of RAM be enough?
I doubt it. But, you can try it, and when you hit your maximum frustration
level, you can always buy more RAM.
