Well, Metal wouldn't work.  In fact, Metal uses literally every last scrap of
available RAM in the 128k area, and then some.

Personally, I think P8 access to resource forks is only important for IIgs
users, since that's where the resources files are gonna come from. :)  If the
file was downloaded from an online service to a IIe, then it's probably shrunk,
so it would be possible to make a mod to ShrinkIt to say "extract forked files
to two seperate files" (AppleDouble, perhaps?).

On the IIgs, one could pach out the $BF00 vector, much as the IIgs AppleShare
code does.  Your code could be anywhere in memory then, leaving the 128k area
free for programs that need the auxillary RAM bank (Metal isn't the only such
program, I'm sure).
