IS the FTA still Shareware?

I know this sounds pretty stupid, but what do you expect of a stupid question.

Okay, I finally downloaded Photonix and the opening screen says to remit $20.

But I swear remembering reading something somewhere in this newsgroup that

is was now Public Domian.  If anyone knows if it is public domain, please

let me know, so I can do the right thing.  If it is still shareware, I'll

send a check, otherwise it's free.
