   IF anyone could give me some tips on how to pull IIGS files off the
interenet, I would greatly appreciate it.  I know how to ftp the files to
my local maineframe, and even to the macs, and pc's that I work with
(which are directly connected to the camus backbone). However, I have been
unable to successfully transfer the files from The macs to my IIGS.  Since
I don't have software that allows me to directly hook my GS to the network
I have to work through Apple macs.

I have tried downloading software in just about every possible format,
ranging from binary to binhex.  No matter how programs are transfered the
mac reads them as text files.  Those same files are treated as text files
on my IIGS.  What am I doing wrong.  If there is a common procedure for
FTPing files to a IIGS format I would be extremely interested in that
procedure.  

 The main program I have tried to transfer is system 6.0 and it is not
compressed.
