But when transferring a program to a foreign OS, all the information ( about
a Windows' program) gets tranferred in one data part. None of this division
into 2. So, I can install and run Windows' programs on a NeXT running an
AFP complient server, and the PC running an Appletalk client program, but I
cannot do the same with GS programs. In fact this issue of data and resource
parts is a source of constant hassle when transferring Mac files to other
platforms. The same is true for the GS. If it weren't for this creator and
file type business I could easily run GS software off a Unix server without
worrying about whether or not the AFP program has implemented the GS file
type extensions (which they never do, except for Apple).
