Hi All
I recently upgraded from an old Capetronic 1200 external modem to an
Infotel 14.4K v.32bis fax/modem (external of course). I had no problems
using the 1200 modem with Jawaid Bazyar's telcom on an Apple IIgs ---
except it was SLOW :(
My problem is using the new modem I can connect with the Unix machines
at school at any speed (1200 to 9600)---at least I get a carrier detect
light on and the connect message. But that's it. Now before, I would
just hit return once or twice and then I would get a login response from
the remote system, now I get no response and usually lose my connection
in a minute or so.
I have tried many various permutations of options (v.42, v.32, mnp5,
various speeds, disregard DTR, etc) to no avail. so...HELP ;-) Needless
to say, it is very annoying to finally get a good modem and then have to
reconnect the old one to post this message <sigh>.
thanks
