I enjoy the same concept. My GS goes through a small box (with dip switches) called a "Superwriter 924" on its way to a Panasonic KX-P1124i. The Superwriter makes the printer think its an ImageWriter II. Neat thing about it is that the Panasonic is a 24 pin and, although it does not have a color printing capability, the stuff it puts out is mucho better than the IW2.
