Virgin released the Spirit of Excalibur but never advertised it or let
anyone know that it existed.
It's very difficult to find it by mail order, because I'm not sure that
most
mail order companies know that it was released, but a year ago, I called
Virgin,
and the representatives with whom I spoke said that I could order it.
Perhaps it's on clearance now, since they probably haven't sold a copy yet.
The scope of the programmer who did The Spirit of Excalibur for the Apple IIGS
was apparently limited. He'd never written an Apple IIGS program and just
attempted to port the C code directly fromj the IBM version. The result was
an incredibly slow game (according to another representative who told me this
at the CES) that they considered not releasing. These companies that spend
considerable time and money developing games that they never intend to market
puzzle me.
