Drive Weidrness

While using the Finder, I ejected a disk and had my hand too close to
the opening, so it got pushed halfway in again.  So I pushed it all
the way in, but it didnt register on the desktop.

So I manually ejected, restarted the system, and my 3.5" and 5.25" did
not show up on the desktop.

So I cold booted, and still no drives.

Then I shut the machine off, waited a few minutes, turned it on, and
the drives were back.  Weird.
