Do _NOT_ buy Design Master.  It does _not_ work well at all, and hasn't
been fixed during the three years or more that I've owned it.

The ORCA/Shell is included with all Byte Works languages (except Integer
BASIC), so you don't need the assembler unless you want to program in
assembly language (assembly: real code for real people :).  As far as
programming references go, you should have all three volumes of the Apple
IIGS Toolbox Reference, the Programmer's Reference for System 6.0, and, if
you're interested in making GS/OS calls, the GS/OS Reference.  You may
want to dig up a copy of one of the many introductory toolbox programming
books, but those are getting hard to find.  Of course, there are lots of
people on the net who would be happy to help out if you get stuck.
