I don't know. I suspect that CD Remote makes device-specific calls to
the CD-ROM SCSI driver. I haven't looked into accessing the CD-ROM
drive from GS/OS yet, so I'm not sure what facilities are provided by
the CD-ROM driver. At the very least, it allows the application to
perform arbitrary SCSI calls, but it may also provide standard calls
for the CD-ROM AudioPlay, AudioStop, etc. commands.
The problem with the Toshiba drive is that the Apple CD-ROM SCSI
driver won't recognise it. You would need a "Toshiba CD-ROM driver"
as a first step.
You would probably also need to disassemble CD-ROM in order to change
the commands it is sending.

The Apple CD-ROM drive command set is documented in the "Apple CDSC
Developers Guide", which is available from APDA (I have a copy). I
don't know about the Toshiba drive, but it might support the SCSI-2
CD-ROM drive command set (if there is such a thing).
