I'm coming in late on this discussion but right now there exists a
newsgroup that's devoted to computer user groups, but it's limited to Proline
sites only. It's called pro.comp.org.ug and originates at
pro-novapple.cts.com. So far about 4 Proline sites that are run by Apple
User Groups subscribe to this group, pro-applepi.cts.com, pro-magic.oau.org,
pro-novapple.cts.com and pro-nsdapple.cts.com.
Right now, it's not very active but has been in the past from time to time.
As set up, the newsgroup is not limited to Apple II only but to all
computer platforms, the rational being that discussions about setting up
and running computer user groups along with common problems such as
attracting new members, are not limited to Apple II user groups only. Some
of the sites that subscribe to this newsgroup, in fact, also support Macs.
