METAL is now FREE!!!!!!

FREE METAL FREE METAL POST THIS EVERYWHERE FREE METAL FREE METAL
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alright, an update to the METAL situation. As of March 21st, 1993, METAL will
be freely available to ALL. That is right, EVERYONE! FREE! NO MONEY INVOLVED!

Here is where things stand...

1. There is an anonymous FTP site for METAL and FV support at...
   babbage.cba.csuohio.edu

in the directory /pub/fv and /pub/metal

Everything that is needed to support METAL and FV are there barring the
METAL.SYSTEM file (which needs to be specially stamped with a serial
number) which is available (FREE! IT'S FREE DAMMNIT!) from Virtual Space
Industries (313)-842-6739. For those of you that LIKE to pay for long
distance phone calls, you can get EVERYTHING else from here as well.
However, we suggest that you get as much as possible from the FTP site to
keep traffic on the support site to a minimum.

If you can't get it from the FTP site, then download the majority of the
stuff from one of these sites. (And remember, it is FREE!)

   Damage Incorporated - (216)-328-0374
   The Atomic Playground - (614)-297-7031

Simply let the sysop know in the application that you want METAL.

2. FutureVision 5.0 IS in development. The latest beta release, version FV
5.0d4 is available to beta-testers. This version fixes numerous bugs and
offers enhancements to the E-mail and Conferencing code to handle Internet
message IDs and more RFC-822 compatible header information for e-mail.

3. The current, stable and OFFICIAL version of FutureVision (4.01) is available
from the above mentioned FutureVision site. (Virtual Space Industries)
(By the way, before we forget, FutureVision is FREEWARE!)

4. METAL bug lists are still being maintained. E-mail any bug reports
to damin@wariat.org, Subject: METAL Bug Report, and your reports will
automatically be added to our bug list.

5. I am in the process of trying to compile a complete archive of source code
for the METAL Language. If you have written any packages or shell commands,
please E-mail and let me know. Or better yet, put them up on our FTP site!

6. FutureNet would like to welcome ANY AND ALL SYSTEMS. We are a FREE network.
all you have to do is....

    1. Get METAL (It's free now, did we mention this yet? :)
    2. Get the official version of FutureVision and RUN IT! Get FAMILIAR with
it. Know it, live it, BE it. Steal code from it.
    3. Apply for a Network Site ID via Virtual Space Industries.
    4. Give us a few weeks to get things all taken care of.

So there.. PLEASE repost this to the networks and get the word out. I'm sure
it will spread fast enough, but hey. Any help is appreciated. Ogg-Net and
TeamNet sysops (Especially the ones that I have spoken with regarding the
matter. Well, here is your chance. I hate to say "I told you so...",
but in this case...) are welcomed.

Come one, come all, get your hands on the greatest Apple II BBS language in
the world. And, before I go, let me once again say...

It is FREE! PHHHTTTTTT!!!!!!
