5.0.4 Finder with system 6.0?

Hello all,

I've got a quick question...  I know one is not suppose to mix system software,
but I made an 800k system 6.0 3.5" boot disk, and in order to gain more space 
on the disk, I replaced the system 6 finder with the one from 5.0.4.  I added
the old icon files, and it seems to work fine.  

Just wanted to know if this is a relatively safe thing to do?
