Re: Bouncin' Ferno II

I have some concerns about the Bouncin'Ferno II that's been uploaded to
c.b.a2 and to cco.caltech.edu. I believe that both versions were taken from
America Online.

Before I left for my vacation a few weeks ago, I mailed out exactly one copy
of Ferno II, and that was to Brett Dunst, the guy who won the contest for
the best level. When I spoke to Brett, he didn't own a modem. I also posted
a "teaser" sort of message saying that I would be uploading Ferno II after I
got back from vacation.

When I got back, I was pretty surprised to see Ferno II on AOL, and even
more surprised to read that people were having problems, crashes, etc. I do
not know the person who uploaded Ferno 2. But, I believe that the version on
the net was downloaded from AOL. And, I cannot vouch for the authenticity to
it. I have since uploaded Ferno 2 to AOL, but they have not released it.

One of the people who downloaded his Ferno2 got it from AOL. He said he had
all sorts of problems with it. At the user group meeting, he copied my
Ferno2, and reported back that it works just fine. So...

I have no idea what happened to Ferno from the time it left my mailbox until
it was posted on AOL. But, obviously, something happened to it, or else you
wouldn;t be experiencing problems. I sure didn;t have any problems crashes,
and neither did Paul Statt.

So...

I want to correct this problem, but I don;t exactly have time to run Ferno
II through BinScii and come up with a zillion segments to upload. So...the
first person who sends me his address in email, who also states that they
will volunteer to upload Ferno II to c.b.a2 or cco.caltech.edu, or both,
receives it via US snail mail. Or, I have posted a copy of ferno II to both
GEnie's A2 area and to CIS's Appuse library. If someone downloaded it from
there, please upload it to the net. Otherwise, I'll mail it to the first
person who responds.

Let a word to the wise be sufficient.
