Fair enough.

Did you know that the FTA got royally screwed over by Toolbox? (heh, like
some other people I could mention, ne?). They barely got anything for
their software. This is directly (in person) from Oliver, Dominique, Deny
and Pierre when they came to the States. I've heard of what Toolbox
(and SOS later on) did, but as far as I know Oliver was uninvolved.

The idea behind the Internet, or more accurately Usenet in general, is that
you can say what you want.

Henrick, there are only a few ways to tell someone you vehemently disagree
with something they say, and all of them are 'nasty'.

I think you're basically right, so let me summarize my feelings.
I, personally, think that Joe Kohn has done many very good things for the
Apple //, and the //gs in specific. His columns in inCider are what I
read the mag for nowadays, and that's about it. Well, that and the ads :)
However, to make the claim "have possably promoted the Apple // more than
anyone else" is sheer hubris. No ifs, ands, or buts.
And to go back to the spark that initially ignited this thread, I _still_
find it distasteful (<- less harsh:) that someone in Joe's position would
barter what is essentially free software. I personally have a copy of
Oil Landers, but I didn't want to upload it because I'd thought it would
be used in a future inCider contest, as Bouncin 'Ferno was.
Now I'm not so sure.
