If you're running System 6, open the 'General' Control Panel. At the
bottom is an pop-up menu called 'Translation'. This should be set to
'Standard' (rather than 'None'). This will enable the option-key
combinations. I think it has its own control panel under System 5.0.4.

Contact Claris. If you can prove that you own the software (have the
master disks), they might be nice enough to sell you a replacement manual.
The leftmost icon in the ruler is used to group lines together so that
they don't cross a page break. It is called the 'paragraph locking'
icon.
The 'round' tab is a decimal tab (numbers will line up on the decimal
point).
